Thank You Skalraf for those links. I have seen all this links at the time when I search my LSD. :)

Oups.

:hein:

A plus

Vincent
Take a look here:
http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/top ... th-pixors/

It is especially about OBX vs Quaife. There's a lot of pictures. It is about the R200 differential. It appears there is not an OBX model for R180.

You may take a look at other threads from this list also:
http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/for ... rivetrain/
There's also a lot of interesting information there.

Hi,

The first link is very intresting. We can understand why there are price differencies for the two models. Take care, the torque we have to pass on the front axel is very high.
I should find the US Forum where somebody explains wy the torque is very high on our 4x4. The high torque is responsable of breaking some front standard differential. :(

Yes, I can figure this out. That's why I am still wondering. In fact, speaking for exactly this model (R200), I was not able to find anyone complaining about broken differential. Mostly there's a problems with the spring shims in the center, and the solution is to replace them and put them in in a proper way. There's several other complaints about hard disassembling the stub axles (but for other models, honda for example), but that is not an issue for us, because on R200A and on R180A the stub axles are not mounted to the differential with hidden spring clips.

Hello,

I private messaged Vincent and asked him the information on his vehicle, his make, model, year and the upgraded differential information. He was kind enough to reply with the following information which I am posting in this thread at his request.

By the way, if you don't know French, it's very difficult to register for this forum with the human verification filter and google translate. :)

I’m speaking a little English. I will try to give you the answers on your questions.

I think it would be good that you write your questions direct on the topics. The questions could interest other peoples. You could write your question in English on the topic, we would try to give you all the answers you need.

So, my car is a NISSAN Terrano II 3L of March 2004. It has the same axle as the older version (2,7 TDI or 2,7TD) cars.
This is a R180A axle that is installed on standard on all Terrano II So the chassis number would not be useful. But I will give you this number: VSKKWNR20U054….

But take care; this model of ARB was special modified from QUAIFE to fit in the R180A. Sorry I don’t remember all the modifications but I will try to give you what I remember
- The number of grooves on the input had to be changed. QUAIFE had to use other inputs from another model of ARB to find the good grooves.
- The holes (drillings) for the installation of the crown (big cogwheel) on the ARB had to be enlarged in order to permit the use of the standard screws on the crown.
- There was also a turn of the screw to be modified for the fixation(binding) of the left axis on the ARB.

All the modifications are listed on the thread

I’m not sure that QUAIFE will try to do this again. Other French peoples were interested on this material but here in France they obtained the answer that under 10 buyers they don’t want to do the experience again.
Are you English living in England? If yes, you have luck, QUAIFE is a English company. You could buy it cheaper as us in France.
Just in case. Now I’m looking for à QUAIFE reference QDFL7 for a R200A axle that is installed on a Terrano I. I shall no more need my model of QUAIFE and would be ready to make the exchange enter my model against the QDF7L for R200 Axle.

I was wondering if anyone has measured the pinion length and Terrano II front carrier lenght/width so that it could be determined if this carrier housing will fit in place of other R180 assemblies? Or any of these other measurements?
