@Sparkybg

a mi priatelka ta mi e Bulgarka! hahaha

It seems I am not the first one doing this. There's even a company making bushes for this. Well, not for Terrano 2, but fo other nissans - 240ZX, 300ZX and so on. These have a center hole moved to one side so to move the slightly bigger R200 differential down. I am pretty sure there will be surprises doing this, but I am not afraid of them

Je suis assez sûr qu'il y aura des surprises le faire, mais je n'ai pas peur d'eux

Hi,

You are right, this hase been done by others owners off Z cars. In France I have found Datsun Ohners who modified there Z cars by changing the R180A with an R200A.

Here for exemple you can find more help from Z cars owners witch are ofen modifying there R180 for an R200 model equiped with an Quaife differential :) .That is a very good idee but we don't have the right to do the same on our cars in France. :(
http://www.datsun-france.com/forum/show ... hp?p=29453

I would be very interested on photos of your realisation. :)

In the US, they have done the same operation you want to do. I had done the same if I had found à R200A with the good ratio. But I didn't find a 3,9 ratio on a R200A. :(

What about the arms and other modifications on the front axel ? Will you modify other points on the front axel ?

Merci Olivier :D :D

A bientot

Thank you very much! This is of great value for me. :)

I have done Calmini-like upper A arms myself. Here they are:

+ 2 inch TrailMaster lift
+ IronMan trosion bars
+ 31'INTERCO TrXus MT
+ Waiting for these to arrive:

These are for Chevy 1500HD 2000HD 2500HD. Fox #980-02-359-А
Will fit almost without modifications - just bottom mount must be corrected a little.

Here's how my Terrano looks now:

Hey SparkyBg,

You could try to find the cross-member that supports the R200a with the diff....it could be easier to replace that with the diff instead of modifying the diff's bushes. The cross- member might even bolt srait to the T2 frame without modification.

think it over

Olivier ;)

Thanks for the advice.

The potential donor for the R200A is a Terrano 1 V6 with blown motor here in Sofia, so maybe it will not be a broblem to get the cross member also. As far as I know the T1/Pathfinder frame is the same as the T2 LWB frame. I have a friend here who owns an american Pathfinder with frame changed from T2.

But even if getting the cross member becomer a problem, I am almost sure I will be able to do entire new crossmember myself, just like I did with the upper A arms. One of the right material for this is S355J2 steel of which I've done the A arms.

Ha!!! all this seems quite typical of your home country; of wich i have heard great praise for its mechanical ingenuity in times of great need.......some years ago. (Bogdana's uncle owns a garage in Sofia.........)

Haha!! Almost none has changed now. :)

Another positive thing about getting the front difeerential down is that the CV joints will receive less abuse from a lifted suspenson and will last longer.

I am thinking of radical modifications of steering system also, but still did not came to the design end.
