Take a look at the chinese then. They are a more or less copy of the originals. Here are the original numbers - make sure the hubs you are going to buy is compatible with your outer CV joints:

40250-88G00/40250-88G01/40250-2S610 - Terrano 1/Pathfinder with VG30E engine (after 1988) - with bigger outer CV joints.

40250-31G00/40250-32G00/40250-32G01/40250-31G10 - Any other T1/T2/Pathfinder (including VG30I engine, upto 1988)

So, if you plan to use the VG30E outer CV joints, you need hubs compatible with these numbers: 40250-88G00/40250-88G01/40250-2S610

In any other case, you need hubs compatible with 40250-31G00/40250-32G00/40250-32G01/40250-31G10.

I am using these (chinese copy of 40250-31G10, around 120EUR per set):

hub2.JPG
We've made a group order from china some time ago (around 2 years ago). I did not had any problems with them so far.

Another option is brasilian AVM (Superwinch are the same, only with different color and label on them) (around 150-200EUR per set). These are widely available from many sources in europe. But I find chinese are better than AVM.

Hope this helps.

Oh !! That are god news. :) I didn't understand you correctly. Sorry! ;)

I don’t know if my Terrano I (US Pathfinder?) with VG30E engine is from after or before 1988. :hein:
My CV joints are with 28 splines; these ones are bigger in diameter than the original ones on the Terrano II.

Ok, you have right, :idée: I need the 40250-88G00/40250-88G01/40250-2S610 models

Are this Hubs made in steel? Not aluminum

I use usually AVM Hubs but they have a big problem, the boolts will open themselves by using them hardly on crossing. :~:

I would be interested on those Chinese products, they seems to be a perfect copy of manual hubs. They seems to be stronger then AVM Hubs. :)
Have you an address? What about the transport costs and the custom taxes for importation? Are you sinking that an order for one set would interest them?

Thank you for your help and your knowledge sharing :)

Best regards

Vincent

I forgot the exact supplier, but here are some suppliers:
http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?Sea ... t_en&fsb=y

120EUR was the price including DHL shipping+VAT+customs taxes. As far as I remember, we ordered around 10 sets for various models (Terrano, Frontera, Toyota, Trooper).

But you will have to use another number if you plan to use the VG30E outer CV joints.

A voir. En tous les cas, il y a de la matière et rien que cela, ça rassure.

A plus

Vincent

Only the outer body is aluminum. Take a closer look at my pictures and you will find out that none of the inside parts is aluminum. The outer body is not subject to any load/stress from the power train. It is just there to hold everything together. I am pretty sure that the original manual hubs are also with aluminum outer body - there is no need for anything stronger there.

PP: As I said, I find chinese hubs better than AVM. I had AVM before the chinese ones. They didn't broke (well, two small pieces from the central part broke off, but still the hub was OK) , but their bolts (the bigger 6 bolts) were constantly self-perpetuating, and I nad to retighten them once every month. Moreover, the AVM have a bad seals and it is easy to fill them with debris and muddy water if you drive often on muddy grounds, rivers, and so on. AVM-s was in total rust after a month or two also. The paint is there only when you buy them from store. Shortly after this (say - first winter), they are all rusty.

PPP: My hubs are exactly the same with aluminium outer body. There are no more aluminum parts other than the outer body.

Ok! I have exacly the same problems with the AVM Hubs on my T2. And I broken also a littel pieces inside but it doesnt' matter, they will continue to work.

But I have rusted pieces on the internal part which rust in the wheel. :~: You convinced me. Rest more than to get in contact with them and to see if it is not too much complicated to make an order.
If they would accept paypal it would be good. :) The Western union, I do not know. :hein:
Best regards

Vincent
