Hi PolHDJ,

Combined a 1HD-FT (24 valves engine) on a 1991 models, is an interesting project. Are you sure, that original transfert case (with PTO window) is compatible with this engine?

If you will succeed in your challenge, my website http://www.my80isfantastic.fr.st is open for a report.

Good luck :idée:

I know transefcase will fit to my A442F transmission, or to my manual from HDJ100, I will think about it because I like manuals. I have PTO,
and 3 TC without window :( , and no lockers :(

Pawel,

HDJ80 parts are some of the most expensive items you may find on the market. The 24V engine alone will be well above the 3000€ mark, locking axles are quite badly looked for, don't expect to find a set for less than 3000€. Those estimates even are on the cheap side if I'm not mistaken. PTO winch are pretty hard to come by, too. If your engine is salvageable, I'd say stick with it, then you can ARB both axles for not too much ;)

good luck anyway !

cheers

I think, what will be better , to find factory lockers (used) or buy new ARB? Are ARB as strong as factory?
One man in Poland buy parts to landcruisers in Switzerland in car scrap,
I dont know this place, buf after some drinks he said he bougth 1HD-T engines 1500Euro :o :

ARBs are very strong, I think they would be more than adequate if you don't try to break them purposedly. And you won't have the issues with worn splines, bad actuators, etc. that a number of factory e-setups have.

I would love to hear about the Switzerland scrapyard in private :D
That price would be considered very cheap anyway, for a engine in good shape of course ;)
